Rule of the Week - Playing Early Matches

August 29, 2024 11:20 PM

by San Diego APA

Situation: Our team has numerous players going to a wedding in week 10 of this session. Can I do anything now to help play a few of those matches ahead of the scheduled week?

Yes, teams can request that a future scheduled week be posted early so that matches can be played at anytime between when it is posted and the actual scheduled night. The team asking to play early should be more flexible when working out early matches with the team that is able to play on that future scheduled night of play. The bylaws require if only 1-2 matches are being played early the team requesting the pre-play match indicate the 1-2 players that will be playing those matches so the opponent doesn’t have to send their entire team down for the early match.

Pre-play matches are not entered until the day after it is scheduled to be played. Players will play at the SL listed at the time they play the match. Teams should be cautious of the 23 rule and reach out to the League Office if any concerns because of Pre-Play.

Pre-Play requests must also follow the guidelines in this post: https://league.poolplayers.com/sandiego/post/33894

Double Posting - Rule of the Week
2/2/26 - 6:00 pm
Situation: Both teams only have 4 players, what happens in the 5th match? When both teams have to double post a player, who gets to pick the player? Teams do not get to pick their own players. In this situation, whoever is scheduled to post next (according to alternate posting throughout the night) is the team who must pick a player from the opposing team first. The opposing team then picks a play
Rules Clarification - Rule of the Week
1/26/26 - 6:00 pm
