As we approach the 4thweek of play, here are a few important reminders…
*ALL players, whether they have played yet or not, must have their yearly dues paid PRIOR to play week 4 (National rule, no exceptions). Unpaid players will be removed from the roster.
*There are NO roster changes permitted once your week 4 match begins.
*All players need 5 session plays to be eligible for session ending playoffs and tri annuals. In addition, all players will need 10 matches played in the last 2 years to compete in World Qualifiers in June. This can include playoff and tri annual play. Again, this is a National rule and therefor there are no exceptions.
*WE HAVE NOT yet chosen a date(s) for Summer/Fall MVP tournament. If you look at our calendar, we are running short on weekends so please bear with us as we try to target a date that works for host location(s) and tournament director(s).
*We have received a few complaints about table assignments, table conditions, table locations, seating issues, food and beverage prices and other issues with host locations. We cannot control any of this and we must ask all of you to continue to respect our various host locations. As for table conditions, please discuss these with your host location owners. If you don’t feel comfortable doing so, then you are welcome to reach out to us, HOWEVER, all we can do is let the owner know that the table may need some maintenance. We cannot/will not force a bar owner to correct the issue-THAT IS OUT OF OUR CONTROL.
*WIN FROM THE TABLE NOT FROM THE CHAIR. We have had questions about some crazy rules…some seemed to be totally made up while others seem like they may have been a rule at some point, but not in last 10 plus years… USE YOUR RULE BOOKS. If someone quotes a rule to you and it seems questionable, LOOK IT UP or ask them to show you the rule in the rule book. The rules and by laws are at your fingertips as they can be found in your member services app. And when all else fails, COMMON SENSE MUST PREVAIL!
*If your team is planning to postpone, please contact your opponent sooner rather than later…holidays and tri annuals aren’t a surprise so as soon as you know you will have to reschedule, contact your opponent, do not wait until the last minute. In addition, teams must email the league office to let us know that you are postponing and to give us your new date of play. You have one week from the scheduled date of play to choose a new date and two weeks from then to actually play the match (total of 3 weeks from scheduled date). Please work together to decided on a new date…keep in mind you DO NOT have to have your entire team present for a match so do your best to accommodate each other.
*EVERY DATE, LISTS OF TOURNAMENTS, IMPORTANT INFO ETC CAN ALL BE FOUND IN YOUR APP AND ON FB. Please take a moment to look at the app in the News section-we share ALL important info in the app and we guarantee, your question is answered somewhere in there! The calendar is pinned to the top of the News section in the app and to the top of our FB page, so there’s no need to search too hard for it.
