We are closing in on the end of our 2025 spring session.

There are quite a few people that will be in Las Vegas right before the end of the session. Please discuss your eligibility with your teams. It is possible to pre-play a match. There are a few teams who will have most of their team in Vegas. Also...If you are the opposing team...yes, this is an actual thing and GMAPA does make it possible for the pre-play to happen. Let me know if you need me to release a scoresheet early for you.

Here are some reminders:

There will be fewer make-up matches allowed. (Yes, teams need to ask before scheduling a make-up.)

No make-ups allowed during the last 2 weeks of play.

No doubling up the last week of play.

All matches, including forfeits, must be paid for. Any team that is not current with their team dues will not be eligible to participate in playoffs or WQ’s.

Playoffs:

(WC = Wild Card) (Playoff matches must be paid in full per APA OTM, pg. 35)

(Playoff location for traveling divisions will be determined by the location of the “Home Team”)

The Second Chance Tournament

Any GMAPA team that played all three sessions and lost in playoffs or a team that has played all three sessions and has lost its qualification will be eligible for this tournament. This tournament is designed to fill any byes in the World Qualifier 16 team bracket. If there are no byes, no tournament will take place. This will be a modified single elimination tournament. At most, one team per format per year, will advance to the WQ.

If this tournament needs to be held, it will be Sunday, May 11th, @ 1PM, at VT Pool And Bar. We will be using both 7ft and 9ft tables, playing on one to two tables each match. (Dependent on the number of teams participating.) Yes, I know it is Mother’s Day. Unfortunately, it is the only day we have available.

WQ Captain’s Meeting

ALL WQ TEAM CAPTAINS are REQUIRED to attend this meeting. This is where you will receive your WQ team paperwork. If you do not have this paperwork, you and your team will NOT be able to participate in the WQ Tournament. Plan on it being just about a 60-minute meeting.

Summer Session

The summer session, for all divisions, will begin the week of May 12th. The Sunday divisions held at VTPB will not play in summer. VTPB is not open on Sundays during the summer. They will resume in the fall.

If we want to be able to send two teams per 8-Ball and 9-Ball format to Vegas, like we will this year, we need those team counts! Summer is a great time to do some recruiting for fall session.
