APA NEWSLETTER FOR THE WEEK OF NOV 23rd2025

OFFICE HOURS 9AM TO 5PM MONDAY THRU FRIDAY, CLOSED SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

I have noticed quite a few teams finishing late. Some because of slow play with several matches taking over an hour, with average innings and it not going hill, hill. I have also heard that teams are refusing to split tables or take long coaches. When they get called out and told what the rule states, they reply they don’t care, this is supposed to be fun. My response is “It is supposed to be fun, but the rules are the rules.” What is fun about a team stretching a night out to midnight or 1am? Whenever a team does any of this I find out. So have fun and follow the rules so people with kids and jobs can get some sleep before the start of the following day.

PAST DUE TEAMS

Past due amounts must be paid before the last week of play. Any person on a past due team will not be allowed to play in playoffs or the Tri-Annual Tournament if it isn’t paid by that time. Past due amounts will show up on your score sheet on the scorekeeper app.

There are no makeups during the last 4 weeks of play. Make sure you play matches in advance if players are going to miss league because of the holidays.

I do not cancel league for severe weather unless the interstates close. If that does happen, you have 24 hours to makeup that match.

Register For Next Session

You can register on either the APA Poolplayer app or The Scorekeeper app. I do not need your full roster. I just need to know if your team is returning so I can work on schedules. You can make your own roster changes on the score keeper app once I release week 1 of Spring session. The sooner I know who is returning the sooner week 1 will be posted.

Remember, you have to play to win!

Don’t forget to get your passport!

Matches Played Plaques: Derek McNerney, Chris Hudson, Brandon Gulick, Travis Auch, Nichole Graham, Teszren Ayers, Rick Pohlmeier, Allison Furman, Heather Deacker, Jessica Johnson, Thomas Burk, Jenny Lynch, Art Heinzer, Andrew Gamble, James Bishop, Terri Steinke.

MIP/New Team Cue Winner: Jacob Auge, Brandon Carlson, Alli Furman, Scott Breitman, Tina Diaz Smith, Noah Gomis. I will have these at all APA Tournaments.

JOKE OF THE WEEK

At the Sunday morning church service, the minister asked if anyone in the congregation would like to express praise for the answered prayers. A lady stood and walked to the podium. She said, "I have a Praise. Two months ago, my husband, Tom, had a terrible bicycle crash and his scrotum was completely crushed. The pain was terrible, and the doctors didn't know if they could help him." You could hear a muffled gasp from all the men in the congregation as they imagined the pain that poor Tom must have experienced. "Tom was unable to hold me or the children," she went on, "and every movement caused him terrible pain. We prayed as the doctors performed a very delicate operation, which lasted for over five hours, and it turned out they were able to piece together the crushed remnants of Tom's scrotum, and wrap wire around it to hold it in place." Again, the men in the congregation were unnerved and squirmed uncomfortably as they imagined the horrible surgery that was performed on Tom. "Now," she announced in a quavering voice, "thank the Lord, after six weeks, Tom is now out of the hospital and the doctors say that with time, his scrotum should recover completely." All the men sighed with relief. The minister rose and tentatively asked if anyone else had something to say. A man stood up and walked slowly to the podium. He said, "I'm Tom." The entire congregation held its breath. "I just want to tell my wife that the word is sternum."
