APA NEWSLETTER FOR THE WEEK OF MAY 18th 2025

OFFICE HOURS 9AM TO 5PM MONDAY THRU FRIDAY, CLOSED SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

We are now in week 2 of Summer session, which means you only have 2 weeks left for roster changes. Make sure you get that done. I also have a lot of teams looking for low handicaps, so if you know of anyone wanting to see what APA is like, this would be the session to do it since it is shorter than Fall and Spring.

WORLD QUALIFIER envelopes are at the Rack waiting on teams to fill them out and drop them off. Remember it is your spring roster that is eligible as long has they have their plays in. Summer session plays do not count.

Don’t forget to pick up your weekly envelopes. Do not put any cash in your envelopes unless the patch report is enclosed, and your players want to be entered into the drawing for a trip to Vegas. The drawing is held at the 9 BALL WORLD QUALIFIER. Make sure you are marking 8 Ball and 9 Ball breaks and Break & Runs on the app as well as the paper score sheets.

Remember schedules can change during the first 4 weeks so pay attention to the app. I will enclose the final schedules with captain’s contact info in the week 4 envelope since they will more than likely be changing.

Finally, I have heard some people complaining about some of the locations we have to play out of. You have to remember this is an amateur league. All leagues started in small one table bars, some better and some worse than others, but those are the locally owned watering holes that are a second home for some. They are also the locations that usually have the best specials and appreciate the business. Just some food for thought.

JOKE OF THE WEEK

Michelle and her husband live in Minnesota. One winter morning while listening to WCCO, they hear the announcer say, "We are going to have 8 to 10 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even numbered side of the street, so the snowplow can get through." Michelle's husband goes out and moves his car.
A week later, while they were eating breakfast, the radio announcer says, "We are expecting 10 to 12 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the odd numbered side of the street so the snowplow can get through." Michelle's husband goes out and moves his car again.
The next week they are having breakfast again, when the radio announcer says, "We are expecting 12 to 14 inches of snow today. You must park......", then the electric power goes out. Michelle's husband is very upset and, with a worried look on his face, he says, "Honey, I don' know what to do. Which side of the street do I need to park on so the plow can get through?"
With the love and understanding in Michelle's voice, like all the women who are married to blondes exhibit, Michelle says, "Why don't you just leave it in the garage this time.
