Vegas Update: Poolplayer Championships

Vegas Update: After day one of the APA Poolplayer Championships at the Westgate Casino in Las Vegas, several Baton Rouge area players/teams are still rolling.

In 9-ball scotch doubles, team Cue 190 (Brennan Oubre and Tristan Leblanc) currently sit in a tie for 17th with a match scheduled this morning for 9 a.m. Vegas time.

In 8-ball singles action, Trent Smelser is currently in the round of 64 and has a 1 p.m. match this afternoon.

Our other 9-ball doubles team, I Made Mine (Cyd Kelleher/Scott Booty) made a nice run to finish in a tie for 129 and in 8-ball singles action Joshua Walker finished in a tie for 65th.

Still to come, 8-ball ladies, Masters, 9-ball singles, 8-ball scotch doubles and Jack and Jill doubles!

Team Captain's Registration Open

The Baton Rouge APA FREE Team Captain's Straight to Vegas qualifier is set for June 13, 2026 at Rickochet Billiards Prairieville. This is a free event (with the exception of quarters for the tables lol), and we will be awarding two, $3,000 value travel packages for teams to represent our area and compete in Vegas at the 2026 World Pool Championships in August. Registration is open now and will clo
