The 2026 APA Poolplayer Championships get underway today with 27 Baton Rouge APA members participating in the week long event. 49 states, 4 countries and a total of 5,323 participants are represented at this years event which is being held on 369 Diamond tables at the Westgate Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

9-Ball doubles and 8-ball singles events kick off today with both 9-ball doubles teams, Cue 190 and I Made Mine, breaking the balls at 11 a.m. Vegas time. In 8-ball singles, Trent Smelser kicks off the action at 3 p.m. VT with Joshua Walker starting his run at 5 p.m.

Our Jack and Jill team, Aces in the Hole, opens play at 11 p.m. Monday with our Ladies only 8-ball team rolling the balls earlier that afternoon at 1 p.m.

Tuesday opens the Masters event with two teams from the Red Stick competing. Rack Runners opens at 5 p.m. with Abra Kadabra taking the table at 9 p.m. Also on Tuesday our 8-ball doubles team starts their trek with team Short Stroke breaking at 9 p.m.

9-ball singles brings up the stretch run of the event with four players hitting the table on Thursday. Anthony Bamugo and Marquise Plummer get started at 3 p.m. with Honey McLin and Kevin Frasier slated for a 5 p.m. start.

The Baton Rouge APA FREE Team Captain's Straight to Vegas qualifier is set for June 13, 2026 at Rickochet Billiards Prairieville.
