Just a few notes/2025 World Qualifier

by Southwest Michigan APA Pool League

Ladies & Gentlemen,

Congratulations to all of you! In particular, both players and captains seem to be much more in the KNOW over these past 3 sessions. Also this is our first year to spit tables in the earlier rounds, it appears to spread things out and make it much more comfortable, and shorten the nights considerably; and still allow time for the players to unwind after the tournament ends and read a good book! This is not an exhaustive list, but our goal is to make the small talk short and get right into the tournament.........

Just a few items:

-The team captains meeting will be at 10AM. We will do a quick review of high level tournament rules and answer any questions

-We are using a 48 bracket taking 3 winners to Las Vegas in August. Should any part of the bracket be stronger than other areas, as teams
play and advance, they will move up and down the span of the bracket. (Color coded bracket is out)

-Upon arrival in the building, all team captains/co-captains should check in at the tournament desk and pick up their teams, TEAM
CERTIFICATION
Statement. This give all team captains a chance to declare and certify all his/her players skill levels, and make adjustments
as they see fit. Occassionally, a player may clearly be playing better than their skill level reports. This keeps teams from having excessive
Skill level movement and running the risk of being disqualified for excessive skill level movement. Any one (singular) player that moves up 2
skill levels is considered egregious and will likely disqualify the team from advancing. It is very normal for a team to have a player move up
during a high level tournament, it is always anticipated that someone on team is going to shine......or at least we all hope so.

-All matches Friday and Saturday will be played on 2 tables, Championship Sunday will be played on one table

-Sudden Death will be at 2 hours from the beginning of the match.

-Should 2 matches be going on, and the person chosen to give the other table a time out will be granted, play will halt on the other table so
that the timeout maybe engaged

-Black River Billiards has new Championship blue cloth on all tournament tables

-Friday 3 rounds-11am-2pm-5pm Saturday 4 rounds- 9AM-12pm-3pm-6pm

-All tournament play should end each night by 10pm

-Sunday will be a 9AM start for the semis and Finals will be directly after

-No hotels were selected for group rates, the rate you can secure online or individually is more than not less expensive

-Ricky Bryant- a professional referee has been contracted to work both 8 ball and 9 ball weekend, his calls are final

-BLACK RIVER BILLIARDS WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL 230AM FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO PARTY AND SO FORTH, TABLES WILL BE AVAILABLE TO RENT, AS WELL AS THE 4 TABLES IN THE SMALL ROOM WILL BE OPEN AND FREE
