When Are Makeup Matches Entered - Rule of the Week

August 31, 2025 9:39 PM

by San Diego APA

Situation: We completed our makeup match but haven’t seen it reflected in the standings?

Makeup matches are entered within the same window of time as the regular matches for that division. They will appear in the next standings update for that division, based on the following:

  • If a makeup match is completed by noon on the day the standings are typically posted, it will be included in that update.
  • If the makeup match is finished after noon, it will likely be reflected in the following week’s update.

Example:

If you play on Sunday night and complete 4 matches, the League Office will enter those 4 matches, and they will show in the current week’s release (Tues).

  • If you complete the makeup match before noon on that Tuesday, it will be included in that week’s update.
  • If the makeup match is completed Tuesday night or later, it will be included in the following week’s update.

Posting Schedule:

Tuesday Update: Includes Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon divisions

Friday Update: Includes Tues, Wed and Thurs divisions

Note: This process applies to electronic scoring divisions only. For paper teams, the same general process applies, but we must receive the paper scoresheet within the same time window to include it in the current week’s update.

You can submit a "Rule of the Week" to the league office:

  • Email to sandiego@apaleagues.com.
  • Email Subject Line must read “SDAPA Rule of the Week”
  • Clearly state the rule/situation and if you know where the answer is found please provide those details.
