Players must be present when their name is called, as per the chip tournament structure. There is no grace period once the tournament has started.

Open to San Diego APA members active on a 2025 SDAPA roster
that have a minimum of **500 combined 8-Ball and 9-Ball scores

$15 Entry Fee

Players with 500 or more matches, who have never played 9-ball (either recently or ever), are still eligible to play. The League Office will assess the player's skill level based on a review.

The first 48 players to submit online form and $15 entry will secure a spot.

* Players may be placed in a different skill level tier to even out the boards. This will be based on a player's stack rank.

What is a Chip Tournament???

• In chip tournaments, each player/team starts with X number of chips based on, in this event, their total lifetime matches from their SDAPA record (see flyer for assigned chip counts) and loses a chip after each loss.
• For the first round, players will be randomly drawn within each tier and will play one rack against each other.
• The winner remains at the table and the next player/team is assigned from the top of the "Up Next" queue, and the cycle will repeat.
• After someone loses a match, they will be moved to the bottom of the "Players Up Next" list. The player/team will lose a chip. The chip does not go to the winning player/team.
• The next player waiting to play at the top of the list will be automatically assigned to the next available table that is waiting for an opponent.
• The last player/team with chips remaining is declared the winner. Payouts will also be determined for other top-finishing teams.
