Rule of the Week - Double Posting

February 8, 2024 7:11 PM

by San Diego APA

Situation: The other team has 6 players and 5 of them can meet the 23-rule. They posted one of there players who now means they either need a double post in the 5thmatch or a makeup. Is this allowed since they could have post 5 tonight?

No, per the bylaws “If you have five players present that can meet the 23-rule, you must play those five players and cannot double post”. This means you can take a forfeit for the 5th vs doing a double post or makeup match.

Rule: Bylaws page 4-5 under "Double Posting (A.K.A "replay rule"): https://apa-by-laws.s3.amazonaws.com/prod/921_bylaws_2023.pdf

  • What combination of players from your roster can play that night when double posting.
  • Choosing a double post or makeup.
  • Who chooses the player who double posts.
  • What to do if both teams only have 4 players.

You can submit a "Rule of the Week" to the league office:

  • Email to sandiego@apaleagues.com.
  • Email Subject Line must read “SDAPA Rule of the Week”
