by San Diego APA

Starting in 2025 the Ladies, Masters and Jack n Jill Championships will move to align with the PoolPlayer Championship event.

The APA has 2 National Events each year in Las Vegas

PoolPlayer Championships (PPC)

World Pool Championships (WPC)

For 2024 here are the various events held in each (click links above to read more).

PPC – 8-Ball Classic, 9-Ball Shootout, 8-Ball Doubles Championship, 9-Ball Doubles Championship, Wheelchair Championship and MiniMania.

WPC – 8-Ball World Championship, 9-Ball World Championship, Masters Championship, Ladies 8-Ball Championship, Jack & Jill Championship, Team Captains Championship and MiniMania.

Starting in 2025 the Masters Championship, Ladies 8-Ball Championship and Jack & Jill Championship will move to the PPC event timeframe.

As a result, the Masters and Ladies divisions will require a transition year schedule adjustment to complete in time to play in these events.

Look for future posts on both formats to sign up and/or outline the transition details.

Rule of the Week - Marking the Pocket
5/26/25 - 5:00 pm
Situation: I marked my pocket and didn't realize the marker was slightly over the bumper. When I shot the 8ball it hit my marker and went in, what happens? NOTE: Contacting a pocket marker with the 8-ball is not a foul and the shot stands. However if the cue ball hits the marker if the 8ball is pocketed it is loss of game. If the 8-ball isn't pocketed then it is Ball in Hand. See page 54 section
