Saturday, April 9, 2022

Plays on the 2nd Saturday of the Month @5:00 pm

Only One Team Match Per Month

3- to 4-PERSON TEAMS with NO SKILL LEVEL CAP

$30 Team Fee per Month

Traveling Divisions (choose your home location)

Team Match is 3 Individual Races to 7 (played by any 3 of the 4 team members).

Team earns points for every game won by each individual.

Playoff matchups will be based on point rankings at the end of regular session.

Playoff Winner advances to national APA Masters Championships
(if more than one slot is available, then the Division Winner/1st Place high points finisher
will bypass playoffs and advance to the Championships).


U.S. Amateur Rules & Format

Individual Race to 7 with combination of 8-Ball (5 racks) and 9-Ball (8 racks)

Winner of the lag can choose to break or pick the game (8- or 9-Ball) to be played first.

The entire set of that format must be completed before moving to the next format.

Jump Cues & 9-Ball Pushouts are allowed ♦ No Timeouts ♦ No Handicaps

held in August during the APA World Pool Championships in Las Vegas!


Player Requirements for Advancing to the Championships

Players must have at least 10 scores 8-Ball and/or 9-Ball and/or Masters within the last year by the entry deadline in June 2023. (A combination of scores from the three formats is allowed, i.e. matches played can be in either the standard 8-Ball or 9-Ball format or on a Masters team.)

Players must play AT LEAST 4 TIMES in the 2023 Spring Session in San Diego APA, either during weekly league or in the Masters Division (this 2022-23 session which will carry over to the Spring), and must remain on a SDAPA roster in the 2023 Summer Session.

Situation: Both players don't lag at the approx same time, is this a re-lag? No, only the following conditions will result in a re-lag: If the lagged balls make contact with each other, both players fail to strike the foot rail during the lag, or a ball stops in the jaw of a pocket, re-lag.
