Happy New Year and welcome to the 2022 Spring Session! During this league year of recovery from the pandemic, we are only running two sessions (Fall and this Spring) instead of the normal three (Summer, Fall, Spring) so this is the second and last session that teams have a chance to qualify for the 2022 APA World Pool Championships in Vegas!

Still looking for teammates? Visit the San Diego APA Team Building Page to round out your rosters or find a team!

Annual APA Membership Renewals are now due for the 2022 calendar year and must be paid by Week 4 of the Spring Session, and by the end of January for the Masters, Ladies and Doubles divisions. Membership fees are $25 for new members and those who paid for 2021 memberships before August 15, 2021. Membership fees are prorated at $15 for anyone who paid for 2021 memberships after August 15, 2021. This prorated offer is only available until March 1, 2022, so if you’re undecided about playing or haven’t joined a team yet, at least make sure you get your discounted membership for 2022. Players who pay online (league.poolplayers.com) or through the APA League App will see the correct amount due for 2022 membership fees and will pay by debit/credit card. If a captain has collected all of the membership fees for their team, then checks/money orders can be mailed to the league San Diego APA, PO Box 19848 San Diego CA 92159. Captains may also send teammate memberships electronically using Zelle (sandiego@apaleagues.com), Venmo (@Liza-Gazmen) or Paypal (sandiego@apaleagues.com) Friends and Family only, please. Remember to specify player numbers in the payment memo for memberships that you are paying. Did you take advantage of the 2021 APA Membership Promotion that was offered from the APA in December 2020? We still have your free t-shirts and will have them at the Fall Blast for pick-up!

Weekly League Play: Each week of play, teams can earn bonus points (2 points for 8-Ball and 10 points for 9-Ball) by submitting score sheets and fees in a timely manner. Legible score sheets and payments must be submitted no later than 10:00 am two business days following league play. Please revisit Score Sheet and Payment procedures on our website for any updated information. Bonus points could make the difference in your team making the playoffs or not, so every player should make it their responsibility to ensure captains (or any other responsible teammates) are submitting everything by the published due dates. We cannot rely on just your opponent’s score sheet to enter scores, so we must have both team’s sheets submitted to process data accurately.

Electronic scoring? Not yet, but we will introduce this in at least three divisions for the 2022 Summer Session. Contact the League Office if you want to volunteer your team/division to test out the APA Scorekeeper app!

2021 Fall Session Results: Division and Playoff Winners, MVP Winnersand Perfect Session Winners have been announced in the News section on the APA League App, or you can visit https://league.poolplayers.com/sandiego/news. All Division Winner captains have been contacted via email regarding payout options (electronic or check), and Playoff Winner captains will be contacted this week. Trophies, plaques and patches for all team and individual winners will be available to pick up at the Fall Session Blaston February 5-6, 2022. Hope to see you there!

Team Captains Championship (TCC): We will be running the annual TCC Qualifier on May 14, 2022, as part of our Showdown Series Qualifier Events. Anyone that was a team captain in the Fall Session and resumes/maintains that status for the Spring Session is eligible to participate in the TCC qualifier. Winning teams will advance to the 2022 APA Team Captains Championship in Las Vegas during the APA World Pool Championships! Stay tuned to APA League App posts and our website for more details soon!
