To Our Maine Players:
We miss everyone and want to get back to play as much as everyone else. Following the governor's plan and the extended situation, States and the other Vegas Qualifiers will be postponed until further notice. It looks like July 1st is when locations may be able to open with restrictions to start. As soon as that happens we will also open in the same capacity.
We know there are a lot of questions about what will happen when play resumes with the Spring Session and with States and Tri-Cups. We do not have answers yet and we will be addressing those questions, and have a plan in place when we get that start date. Until then we hope that everyone stays healthy and want to thank all the essential workers who are working through this!
While we are not playing right now, we would like to show our support for our host locations and the pool community. If you know of any host locations that are open, please let us know so we can share on Facebook. Likewise we would like to hear from players who have businesses open now. We want to show our support for the sport and our players!
Hopefully everyone has seen the announcement regarding the World Pool Championships for teams has been moved to December. APA Poolplayer Championships (qualified singles players will be moved to April 2021) and the Showdown Series Championship (8-Ball, 9-Ball and Jack & Jill doubles and Captains tournament) is currently scheduled for August. The video can be found on Maine APA Facebook page.
While we are shut down, you are able to access the new electronic scorekeeping app. If you want to check it out and get familiar with the electric scorekeeping, you can find “APA Scorekeeper" in your app store. This app is in demo mode and hopefully will roll out soon after we resume play. Also check out the Facebook page for some games and giveaways!
Please contact the office with any questions.
Stay safe and healthy!
John & Pauline
