Hello Debby, Welcome Fall!

by Jacksonville APA

Welcome to the Fall 2024 session! Debby’s here to make it an interesting first night, but we’re pressing forward, excited to welcome new members, new teams, new divisions, and maybe some of you are excited to welcome that clean slate in the division standings as well. 😉

We’re thankful to see Debby is moving through the area quicker than expected and that Jacksonville largely dodged the worst of it. We have been in touch with Monday night league locations and all are open for normal hours ready to host the first night of the new session. With the current weather conditions and this enthusiastic confirmation from our host locations, all league play will continue as planned.

Teams will not be penalized for being unable to field due to Hurricane Debby impacts. All teams are able to play a player twice during a match, if needed, during the first four weeks. This is not optional and should always be used before requesting a preplay or makeup, or before forfeiting. While makeups are not standard operating procedure in this league (review the Jacksonville APA bylaws for the full policy), extenuating circumstances, such as a hurricane, will not result in a forfeit. If your team is experiencing any storm related challenges, contact our office so we can approve a makeup match. You can call or text us at 904-585-8180.

Double check your division schedule before heading out later to make sure nothing has changed and remember to review this post from last week for information pertaining to roster changes and new players.

Lastly, GOOD LUCK! We hope you are as excited and motivated to hit the tables as we are this session. We’re driven to make this the best one yet! Cruise through the Events tab on your app and markup the calendar with all the fun things coming before the end of the year to make the most of your league membership (make sure Jacksonville APA is selected and give it a minute to let it load). We’ve got Vegas qualifiers, Halloween fun for both kids and adults this year (info coming soon!), all kinds of Regional events happening, and of course, the Jacksonville APA Player Appreciation and Holiday Party that you DO NOT want to miss.

We’re coming out of the gate strong with over 70 players advancing to Las Vegas later this week or next to compete in the APA World Pool Championships! More info on that and how to handle Vegas-related team impacts after we get through Hurricane-related team impacts. 😁

Have a GREAT first night and TEXT US if you need ANYTHING!
