This post will contain a lot of important information regarding the end of the summer session, the upcoming fall session and just the general direction of Greater South Atlanta APA.
1. The weekly APA league dues are increasing to $11 per match in the Fall Session so team captains will now turn in $55 per night to me. Zelle (4044149496)
2. I've released the Fall Session scoresheets so that roster additions can be preemptively made. The number of teams in the division and the location of your first match is NOT SET yet so know that it will change. This is only for roster changes. You will have to select the Fall session option in the dropdown of the scorekeeping app to make edits to your Fall session team.
3. It is my belief that being a division winner takes so much more effort than winning a tri-annual or any other weekend APA tournament. It is 16 weeks of grind, sacrifice, and showing up in order for a team to win a division. I’ve decided to up what is received by division winners. Division winners will now receive personalized awards for being the best of the best in the division.
4. Sportsmanship is still the name of the game in Greater South Atlanta APA. Be gracious to your opponent when you have the opportunity to. Yes, there’s competition but this is supposed to be a fun social activity at the end of the day. Let’s act like it.
5. I’m shortening the upcoming Fall session to 12 weeks on Mondays and 13 weeks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. This means that the Spring Session will actually start the 2nd week of December instead of in January like it has in the past. Scheduling wise this has some downstream benefits so that’s why it’s happening. But you as players need to know that just in the this Fall session you will have slightly less weeks to get your required 6 matches in. Please plan accordingly.
6. Please review the Events section of the APA member stats app. I have so many tournaments coming up that you will have a chance to play in. Start looking at the dates and seeing which ones you are interested in. Some are just regular tournaments but quite a few are actually Vegas Qualifiers that will send the winning team to Las Vegas to compete in April-May 2026. Know that Vegas Qualifiers usually have a match requirement of 20 scores within the last 2 years so if you are a new player or haven’t played in a while then use this Fall Session to get your match count up.
7. I keep patches on me. If you ever see me out and about on league night and are owed patches then please just flag me down. I’m happy to get you whatever you need.
8. My office hours are Monday-Thursday from 3-11pm, Off Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12-4. My office number is (404) 414-9496. Please send texts if I don’t answer due to being on another call or still working my day job.
9. As an APA player since 2005 I’ve seen a lot in the pool league world. I’m using all of those experiences to make your journey as a Greater South Atlanta APA member as good as possible. Although each person may not always agree with the direction that I decide to take the league, just know without a doubt that I care about the league, its players, and pool in the area. Pool has been my passion since I first picked up a pool cue in 2002. I’m so happy to have the chance to now share this passion with you all.
