APA NEWSLETTER FOR THE WEEK OF SEPT 14th2025
OFFICE HOURS 9AM TO 5PM MONDAY THRU FRIDAY, CLOSED SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
This is the 4th week of play for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday teams, which means this is the last week for envelopes. I will notify you when patch envelopes need to be picked up by the home team.
The deadline for the FLYAWAY SPORTSMANSHIP INVITATIONAL has passed. I will post brackets asap on facebook. Make sure you bring a clear picture of your passport to the event or you will not be allowed to participate.
Finally, I wanted to mention a rule change in the OFFICIAL TEAM MANUAL. It now states that “Marking the pocket with chalk is not recommend”. Previously I had a rule in the bylaws that covered this and made this a foul which meant loss of game. This is no longer the case. Nationals removed this from my bylaws because it contradicted their rule and created a foul and loss of game, which bylaws cannot do. Also, captains and teammates cannot call fouls. The match is between the players at the table. You can ask your player, and they can ask the opponent. Remember it always favors the shooter, so if they say it was good, IT’S GOOD. Just like you must answer if a player asks you what they are shooting at. This is common courtesy and goes a long way when it comes to sportsmanship.
Finally encourage your players to read the weekly newsletters as well as the bylaws. There is a lot of information, other events, opportunities, dates and updates you need to know.
Remember, you have to play to win!
Matches Played Plaques: Derek McNerney, Chris Hudson, Brandon Gulick, Travis Auch, Nichole Graham, Teszren Ayers, Rick Pohlmeier, Nicole Rutan, Allison Furman, Heather Deacker, Jessica Johnson, Thomas Burk, Jenny Lynch, Lorena Cooper, Art Heinzer, Andrew Gamble, James Bishop, Terri Steinke.
JOKE OF THE WEEK
A man and his wife, who was 8 months pregnant, were doing some holiday shopping in crowded mall. They had been trading humorous insults for most of the evening, and the man decided that he was going to really get her. He announced in a loud voice, "If you don't stop insulting me, I'm not going to marry you!"
He was disappointed that only a few people around them reacted, but his wife managed to bring down the house when she responded, "That's OK, I won't tell you who the father is!"
