Captains Tournament

.

• A maximum of 3 players allowed on the roster for our qualifying event.
• All 3 of the captains will be participating in each match.
• The total skill levels of the 3 players fielded in any team match cannot exceed 15.
• A player’s highest skill level between formats (8-Ball & 9-Ball) must be used towards the 15-Rule. Skill levels more than two years old will not be used in this event.
• Skill level 8/9s will count as 7s in this tournament.
• Only one player of skill level 6 or higher, sometimes referred to as a senior skill level player, may play in any given team match.
• Players may only participate on one team and must be from APA Atlanta.
• Modified - Single Elimination Captains Round Robin Format.
• Alternate between 8-Ball & 9-Ball racks, starting with 8-Ball. Each individual rack is worth one team point.
• Games Must Win chart will be used.
• Players must have at least twenty (20) 8-Ball scores or twenty (20) 9-Ball scores within the last two (2) years prior to May 23rd, 2026. A combination of scores from the two formats is not allowed.
• Players must have completed two (2) sessions as a Team Captain of a standard 8-Ball, 9-Ball, or Ladies team in the 2025/2026 League year in the area the team represents. Teams must be in separate sessions. Players are not allowed to captain two teams in the same session and still be eligible for this event.
• Players must have been a Captain in 2 of the 3 qualifying sessions. (Summer 2025, Fall 2025 or Spring 2026)
• Players must have played at least six (6) times in the Spring Session, Matches played can be in either the standard 8-Ball, 9-Ball or Ladies formats.
• Winning Captains must be on an active (2026 Summer Session) APA roster in APA Atlanta.
• 1 Captains Team will receive a Vegas Slot
• Winning Captains Team: will have the option of adding more captains to complete their roster or only go with the winning 3 players. If the team decides to add more captains, the winning team will be able to choose up to 2 more captains from the list of captains who participated in the Atlanta Team Captains Vegas Qualifier. Any captain that did not participate in the Atlanta Captains Vegas Qualifier is considered ineligible.
• Travel Assistance package will be provided, no additional travel will be added if teams chooses to add players.
• 100% of entry goes toward travel assistance
• Slot & Greens Fees will be paid for by APA Atlanta
• Rosters lock 5/20 @ noon

Sign-up spots are limited to 32 teams in this tournament; registration will be on a first come first served basis. Once the tournament is full, we will start a waiting list in order of signups. Players can cancel signup up to 48 hours prior to tournament, any player that signs up and does not show will be charged entry fees and it will be added to players membership account. Tournament Dues are paid at the tournament!
