Captain’s Tournament Guidelines
- A maximum of 5 players allowed on the roster.
- Teams may choose any 3 of the 5 team members to participate in each match.
- The total of the skill levels of the 3 players fielded in any team match cannot exceed 15.
- A player’s highest skill level between formats (8-Ball & 9-Ball) must be used towards the 15-Rule. o Skill levels more than two years old will not be used in this event. Skill levels and scores must be current to be applicable.
- Skill level 8/9s will count as 7s in this tournament.
- Only one player of skill level 6 or higher, sometimes referred to as a senior skill level player, may play in any given match.
- Players may only participate on one team.
- Players must be from APA Atlanta.
- Modified Single Elimination Format.
- Round Robin Format
- Alternate between 8-Ball & 9-Ball racks, starting with 8-Ball. Each individual rack is worth one team point.
- Games Must Win chart will be used.
- Players must have at least twenty (20) 8-Ball scores or twenty (20) 9-Ball scores within the last two (2) years prior to June 28, 2025. A combination of scores from the two formats is not allowed.
- Players must have completed two (2) sessions as a Team Captain of a standard 8-Ball, 9-Ball, or Ladies team in the 2024/2025 League year in the area the team represents. Teams must be in separate sessions. Players are not allowed to captain two teams in the same session and still be eligible for this event.
- Players must have played at least five (5) times in the Spring Session, Matches played can be in either the standard 8-Ball, 9-Ball or Ladies formats.
- Players must be on an active (Summer Session) APA roster in APA Atlanta.

If you do not sign-up prior, Free time prior to tournament to mingle and join up with other captains. Walkin teams will be seated in the reverse order of APA National official bye order. IE if we have 8 byes... Bye 8 would be filled first, Bye 7 second and so on counting down to bye 1.

Our most asked question is how can I find other captains to join up with to make a team?

Prior to the tournament itself, we will hold an 'open house' where players can show up and use the time to warm up for the tournament OR find like-minded captains to join together, make a team, and play the same day.

Sign up spots are limited per tournament; registration will be on a first come first served basis. Once the tournament is full, we will start a waiting list in order of signups. Players can cancel signup up to 48 hours prior to tournament, any player that signs up and does not show will be charged entry fees and it will be added to players membership account. Tournament Dues are paid at the tournament!
