OK, I know y'all have been patiently waiting on the edge of your seats for singles qualifiers... I'm working on several at once between now and the end of November. There will be at least three before the end of November and I'm planning on having at least one of those three being "split" between two locations. We CANNOT have a "last chance" qualifier the first Saturday of December as we've done in the past - the National Office put an end to that practice - so the last chance qualifier will probably be the last Saturday of November.

I also haven't lost track of the Summer MVP tournament (which, by the way, is traditionally NOT a Singles Qualifier like the Spring and Fall MVP Tournaments) - the Summer MVP tournament will be in mid-November (most likely the 22nd) and I'll give more details as soon as I have it nailed down with the location (working on it!)

The annual Halloween "Broomfest" pot luck / tournament / costume contest is locked in for November 1st at Players - more details will be out soon.

The first of the Singles Qualifiers will be this Saturday Oct 11th at Players... doors open at Noon. I'll make a separate announcement ASAP here and in the app, but feel free to spread the word. I'll hopefully have the rest of the qualifiers nailed down and announcements out early next week so hold back on your tilt mode if this week is too short of notice for you...

I'm honestly sensitive to the fact that some of you need better advance notice - I get it!! - in return, please be sensitive to the fact that I'm not always able to pull that off and I'm not going to pass up a short notice opportunity (like this Saturday) because it might be too short notice for some. We'll get some of those people with more flexible schedules qualified and out of the way so there's less competition for the people who have to arrange childcare or a day off from work - deal?

So, in sum, all of the babble above simplifies to:

- Singles Qualifier 10/11 @ Players - Noon

- Halloween Broomfest 11/1 @ Players - more info to follow

- Summer MVP - most likely 11/22 - more info to follow

- LAST Singles Qualifier - 11/29

- one or two more Singles Qualifiers before 11/29 TBA

- at least one of the remaining qualifiers will be split

Something disappointing happened at the Singles Qualifier yesterday that I thought I'd mention here to turn it into a learning lesson for whomever needs to hear it.I left a couple pieces of Taom chalk on a table next to my cues near Table #1. This chalk is distinctively labeled and shaped - it's cylinder shaped instead of the normal cube shaped chalk (typically Master) that is supplied at pool hal

Behavior. I don't know what it is... probably a combination of things - the holiday season, nearing playoffs, whatever - but there's been an uptick in reasonably serious sportsmanship related issues reported to me. Two from last night alone (that I'm aware of so far). I really do my best to deal with these matters fairly and privately... but if we need to have a public hanging to get the point acr
