TWO OPTIONS:
(1) FREE TO TRY OPTION. Winner pays the entire entry amount to progress to Regionals.
This one is at Frontier Fun Center on Saturday, October 11th. Tournament Director is Jerry O'Dell. Starts at 10am. The last boards that day will start at 1pm, so don't arrive any later than that. The earlier you arrive, the better chance you'll have an opportunity to play on several boards. Again, this is FREE to try. IF you win a board, you have the option of moving forward to Regionals by paying the $176.00 within 2 weeks. Remember, in order to participate, you must be on a current roster in the format in which you are participating --- and you must have 10 matches played in that format in the past 2 years. NO ADVANCE SIGN UP IS REQUIRED FOR THIS FIRST OPTION. Just show up.
Here's how it works:
Step 1 -- Frontier Fun Center in Fernley. Free to try. See details above.
Step 2 is Regionals. Players who win in step 1 above move forward to this Step 2.
Regionals take place in early March in either Reno/Sparks or California. At Regionals, you play against only players in your same skill level tier. Winners progress to Vegas. *Note, Spring Regionals are USUALLY in Sacramento during the first weekend of March. However, the location and exact dates are not finalized until late January.
Step 3 is Vegas. Players who win at Regionals progress to Vegas. The Vegas event (the APA Poolplayer Championships) takes place in late April or early May. Players who make it this far receive travel assistance (think, gas money) and a slot to compete for the grand prize. The APA also pays for your hotel room! As was the case with Regionals, you only play against others in your own skill level tier. Prize money in Vegas is over $400,000 in 8-Ball and over $250,000 in 9-Ball.
(2) PAY TO PLAY OPTION. Advance Sign Up is REQUIRED!!!!!
Call or text 775-443-8844 to sign up.
The date of this tournament is October 25. Location is Coconut Bowl.
Doors open at 10am. Start time is 10:30am. Arriving late may cause you to lose your spot, so please be on time.
Here's how it works:
Step 1 -- This one is at Coconut Bowl. Each board costs $176, due within 2 weeks of winning the local board. Entry fee is $10 per board. All money collected for your board goes towards your board. For example, if there are 6 people on your board, that would be $60 collected. Applying that $60 to your board would result in your remaining required entry fee of $116 - instead of the full $176.
