Official League Announcement Letter

Dues Adjustment for the 2026–2027 Pool Year

Effective March 30, 2026

Players,

We’ve got a lot of exciting things coming your way this next pool year, and with that comes an important update. Beginning March 30th, 2026, weekly team dues will be adjusted for the 2026–2027 pool year.

Here are the new rates:

 • Weekly teams: increasing from $50 to $60

 • Masters and ladies teams: increasing from $30 to $36

 • Destination Division: remains $75, with the split adjustment to come out of the Destination Fund

We want to be upfront about why this change is necessary and, more importantly, what it enables for everyone playing in the First Coast APA.

Why the Adjustment Is Needed

1. Vegas Costs Have Skyrocketed

The cost of sending teams to Vegas has jumped sharply over the last few years. Flights and hotels alone have risen enough that we can no longer guarantee a fully funded, high-quality Vegas experience for 2027 without making this change now. We want every team that earns their way there to enjoy a stress-free, memorable trip—not a last-minute scramble.

2. The Southeast Challenge Is Leveling Up

Our region may be shifting to a true event venue with tables brought in, and entry fees for the Southeast Challenge have almost doubled. This would be a major step toward a more professional and competitive regional event, but it also increases the cost of participation for the league.

3. Enhanced Player Experiences

We’re adding new, meaningful benefits for players—from better raffles to expanded boards to improved prize structures. We want your league nights and your tournament weekends to feel like experiences, not just matches.

4. Major Technology Upgrades Are on the Way

Over the next six months, we’re rolling out new tools that will give players easy access to handicapping, eligibility, rules, schedules, and more. These improvements come with development and operating costs, but they’ll make your league experience faster, smoother, and more connected than ever.

5. Signature Tournaments Are Getting an Upgrade

The MVP, Champion of Champions and Best of the Best will be moving to the next level. Better prizes, better structure, and a better experience—designed to recognize the best players and teams in First Coast APA. Starting in the Summer session, we will be increasing the MVP tournament to the top 3 MVP players of each session.

What Players Get in Return

Enhanced Patch Program

Players will now receive automatic entry into the Vegas raffle—no more adding $1 each week. The patch program itself is being expanded and elevated.

Expanded Singles Boards

We will be adding new opportunities across the Singles program, including a Special Boards Weekend with discounted pre-pay entry, giving more players more chances to advance.

More Chances to Go to Vegas

We’re expanding the ways players can earn Vegas opportunities:

New Captain Vegas raffles

Sportsmanship Vegas raffles

Additional earned-opportunity raffles throughout the year

Our goal is simple: send more of our players to Vegas while keeping the experience top-tier.

High-End Cue Stick Raffles

We’re introducing more high-end cue stick raffles awarded through:

Milestones

Accomplishments

Longevity

Captain status

Total matches played

These won’t just be random drawings—they’ll reward commitment, leadership, and long-term participation.

Our Commitment to You

We never make changes lightly, and we’re transparent about every step. This adjustment allows us to:

 • Keep Vegas fully funded and stress-free

 • Elevate tournaments and player experiences

 • Add new raffles, rewards, and opportunities

 • Roll out powerful new technology tools

 • Strengthen our host locations and long-term sustainability

We are committed to making league night the best night of your week—and to giving our players the kind of experiences that make this league feel like a second home.

Thank you for being part of the First Coast APA family. If you have any questions, we’re here to help.

See you on the felt,

 Ashley & Kevin Morgan

Understand the term

We want to address the term “sandbagging,” because it is often misunderstood. Sandbagging is the intentional act of playing below one’s true ability, such as deliberately missing shots, adding unnecessary innings, or throwing games, in order to manipulate a handicap. It is not the same as a player performing well, breaking and running, or successfully playing safeties in tough situations. A player
