Making Our League Bigger, Better & More Rewarding Than Ever

In our continued quest to make APA Austin the best and most rewarding league in Texas (and beyond!), we’re excited to announce several major improvements coming your way — all designed to enhance your experience, increase payouts, and give back even more to our players and teams.

As we continue to grow and expand, the cost of delivering the quality, events, and player benefits our members deserve has also increased. To sustain this growth and continue raising the bar for everyone, we’ll be making a small dues adjustment next session, helping us reinvest directly into you and the league experience.

We’re also thrilled to share that Anthony DeVitahas officially joined us as your 3rd League Operator, giving us even more strength, support, and vision to make amazing things happen in the future!

💬 What We’ve Already Added Since Day One

In just our first year together, we’ve already delivered:

• 💸 Increased prize money in tournaments
• 💰 Increased travel assistance for Showdown series players
• 🖼️ High-quality sublimation awards and plaques with picture inserts
• 🎟️ Raffles, T-Shirt giveaways, and Custom T-Shirts to all Vegas-Qualified Teams
• 🕒 Extended customer service with longer hours of operation
• 🍻 Frequent visits to our host locations to see our players in action
• 🎱 A strong presence at major tournaments like Singles Regionals, and the Vegas Poolplayers Championships and World Pool Championships

🌎 North and South Split

The North/South split has increased the number of teams advancing to Tri-Annuals, World Qualifiers, and Vegas, while also boosting payouts and opportunities for competition.

Due to this split, APA Austin now has non-stop action taking place each and every month with a variety of tournaments and special events.

💰 Weekly Dues Update – Effective Spring 2026

Since the last dues adjustment, the costs of awards, travel, and overall operations have continued to rise.
To keep pace and ensure we can continue growing and giving back in bigger and better ways than ever before, a small increase will take effect next session.

Beginning with the Spring 2026 session, weekly dues will increase by $2 per player per night — from $8 to $10 per match for all 8-Ball and 9-Ball teams.

There will be no increase for Ladies, Masters, or Doubles teams, as they are already paying $10 per player.

We truly appreciate your understanding and continued support as we work together to make APA Austin the best league in all of APA!

The following is a list of all the benefits this dues increase will provide to all players beginning Spring Session 2026:

🏆 Bigger Rewards & Player Perks Coming!

1️⃣The Vegas Experience

8-Ball & 9-Ball Teams

• The total number of teams going to Vegas (North & South combined) has increased from 8 to 10!
• Teams advancing to Las Vegas will now receive $750 per player (up from $560) to make your Vegas experience even more enjoyable.

Ladies, Masters & Doubles Teams

• The total number of teams going to Vegas (North & South combined) has increased from 6 to 11!
• Teams advancing to Las Vegas will now receive $650 per player, up from between $400–$560 (based on event).
  (These events are shorter in duration than the 8-Ball & 9-Ball team events.)

2️⃣New Showdown Series & Awards Program

We’re expanding our patch awards program to include all Showdown Series leagues — Masters, Ladies, & Doubles!

• Just like in regular league play, players will now earn patches for key achievements.
• All Champions & Runner-Up teams in each Showdown Series category will now receive special awards to recognize their achievements!

3️⃣Larger Tri-Annual Payouts

The number of teams receiving payouts has increased, and we’ve also boosted the prize distribution as follows:

• 🥇 1st Place: $1,200 (up from $900)
• 🥈 2nd Place: $400 (up from $300)

With more than $30,000 in new payouts, the Tri-Annuals have now have more than $115,000 in annual payouts!

With over $30,000 in additional prize money, our Tri-Annuals now feature more than $115,000 in total annual payouts! 💰

Plus, all teams advancing to Tri-Annuals will now receive team awards to recognize their achievement!

4️⃣Mid-South Invitational

Given the huge demand and positive feedback from everyone who competed, we’re expanding this opportunity!

We’ll be giving away at least one free Mid-South Invitational slot each for North and South Austin.

5️⃣Year-End Bash & Awards Party 🎉

We’re planning a massive celebration featuring over $10,000 in food, beverages, and prizes!

This event will honor:

• 💵 All APA players will be eligible to win prizes!
• 🎯 Centurion players (with higher weighted raffle draws & separate exclusive raffles for Centurion players)
• 🙌 Division Reps & staff
• 🏅 Recognizing players across multiple fun categories!

⚔️ Introducing “The Dunagan Cup”

To celebrate both sides of our league and honor two incredible members of our APA family, Betty and Grady Dunagan, we’re introducing a new annual event:

🎱 The Dunagan Cup – North vs. South Austin!

Modeled after the Mosconi Cup, this exciting competition will feature hand-selected players from each side representing their region across all skill levels.

• 🏅 Captains will lead their teams into battle for bragging rights
• 🏆 A perpetual trophy will be displayed at the winning host location for the year
• 💵 Cash prizes, awards, and pride will all be on the line
