Important Update for C13 CPA Pool Players
Dear members,
We want to share an important update about changes to the C13 league structure and what it means for you.
What’s Changing?
Previously, the C13 area (Walkerton, Hanover, Kincardine, etc.) was combined with the C16 area (Sudbury, Midland) for higher-level events such as Regionals and doubles qualifiers.
Moving forward, these two areas will operate separately due to a change in C16 ownership. As a result, C13 will now run independently.
This change affects how spots (or “slots”) are awarded for events like:
· Las Vegas tournaments
· Border Battle
· Montreal Invitational
What Does This Means for C13?
We are excited to introduce a new, independent league structure starting in Summer 2026, which will carry into the 2026–2027 league year. Our goal is to continue providing a top-quality playing experience.
New League Structure
Summer Session
Includes one slot for 8-ball and one slot for 9-ball at the Montreal Invitational
Divisions will be divided by format (8-ball and 9-ball)
8-Ball:
More teams will compete.
Top 4 teams receive prizes:
1st place: Montreal slot
2nd–4th place: Cash prizes
9-Ball:
1st place team earns the Montreal slot.
Fall & Spring Sessions
1st and 2nd place teams will qualify for a new Cash Cup tournament.
This replaces the previous Border Battle qualification system.
Final structure will depend on the number of teams and divisions.
C13 Regional World Qualifier Event
Will continue to be held at the Walkerton Arena
Current format:
3 boards for 8-ball
1 board for 9-ball
Updated rewards:
Increased travel assistance:
· 8-ball: from $8,000 → $10,000 per team
· 9-ball: from $6,400 → $8,000 per team
· Border Battle spots go to runner-up teams.
· Semi-final payouts increase from $500 → $800.
League Fee Update
Starting in the Spring 2027, team fees will increase to $60 per team ($12 per player)
Why the Increase?
Fees have not changed since 2010.
New fee structure will help fund:
· Higher travel assistance for Regional World Qualifier winners
· New Cash Cup tournaments
· Continued access to Montreal Invitational and Border Battle slots
· Support for Vegas events (e.g., Captains and doubles tournaments)
We expect this increase will return an additional $20,000–$25,000 in prizes to players.
Thank You
We appreciate your continued support as a CPA member. These changes are designed to strengthen the league and create more opportunities for players. We are excited about the future and look forward to growing together.
Sincerely,
C13 CPA Staff
