#APACommunityChampion - Starting Skill Levels

by South Idaho APA

Are you an #APACommunityChampion?!

REMINDER: Baseline starting skill levels next session will be a 3 for all guys and gals, regardless of format if they do not have an established APA skill level

So…does that mean I have to start all my new teammates as a 3?

ABSOLUTELY NOT! In fact, we highly recommend starting players known to be better than the starting skill level as something closer to their true ability (you can never play someone lower). An #APACommunityChampion does not see the start of session as a way to gain a few extra points while "their skill level catches up to them" because they know it's not fair to the other team. The handicap system is designed to make the sport fair and competitive for all, so help make league night fair by declaring YOUR OWN teammates higher when applicable.

NOTE: An #APACommunityChampion also communicates to us when they see people playing below their true ability and markes defensive shots EVERY TIME there is NO INTENT to make a ball. As a Champion, you will educate teams that they have the ability to play someone as a higher skill and simply make a note to us on the back of your scoresheet if they choose not to. Please no arguments on this subject!

Thank you for declaring yourself an #APACommunityChampion by making league night fair and fun for all!!
