What is Sharking?!

Pool is a game of honor & respect. We see a TON of people brand new to the sport, so let's give a little grace and we will all learn the general etiquettes together.

Sharking is INTENTIONALLY trying to get in someone's head to impact their game. Assume benefit of the doubt and that people are making an honest mistake, but here are a few things people have INTENTIONALLY done to throw someone off their game:

• Talking while opponent is shooting
• Speaking negatively about opponent's skill level or ability
• Standing in opponent's line of site or too close to the table
• Giving opponent a loose rack
• Making comments to "get in their head"

Have your captain talk to their captain calmly to give the opportunity to correct the situation, politely talk to your opponent about the etiquette of our community or in extreme situations where neither work, report the sportsmanship concern to your Division Rep or League Operator. Please be patient as newbies are educated about the sportsmanship expectations within this community. 😉
