Pros and Cons to Replays

by APA San Mateo County

This is a reminder that the Replay Rule is designed to help with team emergencies. It is not intended to be a regular part of play. Here is some information about how to use Replays successfully:

🎯 Main Focus of Entire Team: Fill Rosters

πŸ” Replay Policy (use as many weeks as needed BUT focus on filling your roster to avoid this when possible!)

  • Weeks 1–4: Use replays as needed to fill rosters.
  • Remainder of Session: You can use replays as needed except for the last week of regular play and during playoffs.

🚫 Why It Matters

  • More replays =
Players play more - the player picking up the match plays 2 matches instead of just 1; teams look forward to playing different players. Don't force a team to have to play the same person in two matches.
Players pay more - the player picking up the match also has to pay double for league night
Players stay later - since replays are played last, this requires one team member to have to stay longer for league night
