Stay after the Clinic for Singles Boards

Thank you all in advance for taking part in the betterment of the League!

The American Poolplayers Association is constantly looking at handicaps and working to ensure that handicaps are as good as they can be across the board. The most critical part of handicapping is ensuring that scorekeeping is done correctly. In an effort to improve scorekeeping nationally, the national office has instituted Scorekeeping Clinics and bonus point incentives for attending. The ability to obtain team bonus points will only be available for Summer Session 2018. Plan now to attend one of the Clinics, you may learn something or be able to help others learn something that will improve scorekeeping and the system as a whole!

The clinic is scheduled for 90 min and will cover:

  • How to keep score and properly fill out a scoresheet.
  • What is defense and when should a defensive shot be marked on the scoresheet.
  • How is your handicap calculated?
  • How to submit a handicap review.
  • Different scenarios for a double hit, ball in hand, and legal breaks.

Incentives:

Each player that attends (up to 5 players per team) will receive 2 bonus points in 8-Ball and 10 points in 9-Ball for all of their Summer Session 8-ball and 9-ball teams. All incentive points earned will be awarded following the last clinic on July 22.

Participants will receive a Certified Scorekeeper patch at the end of the clinic.

Limitations:

Valid only for active Summer Session teams in 8-Ball and 9-Ball.

May only receive bonus points once for your teams (can not get additional points for attending twice).

Maximum incentive per team is 10 points in 8-Ball and 50 points in 9-Ball.
