How to be a good APA teammate.

I don't request that I play first because I need to be at work very early in the morning, and I play, done at 9:00pm, yet I'm still at the bar at 12:30am.

I don't complain to my captain that I didn't get to play this week. Remember, the captain has the thankless job of matching up potentially 8 players on a roster when only 5 matches are played per night. He/she is working on the the best 5 matchups to win the night.

I don't wait for my captain to ask me to pay for my matches. I hand in my $ when I start playing.

I volunteer to keep score. I don't hide behind "I don't know how" because I've viewed the easy-to-follow tutorial videos.

I watch my teammates play and I encourage them. I applaud great shots. I tell my teammates they made a good try even if they missed. I am "with" my teammates, not sitting at the bar while my teammates are playing.

I learn the rules.

I arrive on time for league play, or as early as I can if I have to juggle my work schedule. I notify my team captain if I am going to be late or absent.

I stay and cheer my teammates in their matches, even if I have played early.

When it's time to leave, I seek out my teammates, advise them I am leaving, and I say goodnight. I don't just disappear, even if I am p*ssed because I played poorly.

I don't get angry when a timeout is called. I take input and make the best decision, even if I don't necessarily take that advice. But I always listen and carefully consider all suggestions made during a timeout.

Above all, I put myself in my teammates' shoes (including my captain), and I treat them as I wish to be treated.
