Effective January 1, 2025, the price for single regional qualifier boards is increasing to $200 per board. Breakdown: When we fill an 8-player board, we divide the cost per board with number of players. With that, an 8-player board will increase to $5 per player, from $20 to $25 per player.

THIS IS A LEAGUE WIDE IMPACT!

As explained by the APA national office, the increase in fees is aimed at ensuring the sustainability and growth of our programs. The additional funds will be allocated towards several key areas:

⭐Infrastructure Spending: To support the unprecedented growth in participation, we need to invest in infrastructure. This includes expanding the number of Regional Qualifier locations and increasing the Poolplayer Championship footprint in Las Vegas.

⭐Technological Needs: As our programs grow, so do our technological requirements. This investment will help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations.  

⭐Rising Hotel Costs: When you earn a spot in the APA 8-Ball Classic or 9-Ball Shootout championships, hotel rooms are included. Accommodations for events have become more expensive, and this fee increase will help cover those rising costs.  

⭐Operational Support: We have hired additional staff within the Tournament Department to manage the increased workload and support the program operationally.

While this spending may not be as immediately visible as increased prize money or travel assistance, it is essential for the long-term success of the program.

It's important to note that while we are only implementing a $5 per player increase at this time, we anticipate an additional $5 per player increase within the next 2-3 years as the need arises. This incremental approach ensures we can continue to support the growth and operational needs of this program effectively while managing the impact on our participants.
