We understand that the upcoming holiday week can create additional scheduling challenges, and we want to provide some flexibility where possible.

For matches scheduled on Monday, December 22 and Tuesday, December 23, the emergency requirement for makeup matches will be temporarily relaxed. This exception is being allowed because there is no league play scheduled from December 24 through January 1, which significantly reduces the usual challenges associated with makeup matches, such as table availability and scheduling conflicts. Outside of periods like this, those challenges are typically why makeup matches are restricted.

All matches that can be played using available players and the replay rule are still expected to be played as scheduled. Makeup matches are intended only for situations where a match truly cannot be completed.

All makeup matches approved under this exception must be completed on or before January 4.

If a makeup match will be needed, teams should reach out to their opponents in advance to notify them and coordinate scheduling. Preplaying before Tuesday is still a recommended option if travel schedules allow.
