Welcome to Spring

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Spring 2026 Session!

Spring 2026 is here, and we’re excited to get started. This is your quick “prep-before-you-go” checklist—please take a moment to review the rules and membership requirements below so you’re ready for night one. These are based on the APA Official Team Manual and our local Jacksonville APA Bylaws — it’s essential for all players and captains to be familiar with them.

Key Things to Know

Active 2026 APA Membership Required
Every player must have an active 2026 APA membership before playing their first match of the session. Memberships can be renewed or purchased via the Member Services App or at join.poolplayers.com.

If a player plays a game without a current membership, the League Office will pay their membership for them and the team will be charged per local bylaws. This prevents the rulebook-required penalty of removing all points earned by the team that night. Bonus points are lost when this happens, so make sure everyone's membership is paid before they play.

Bonus Points & Team Fees

Teams earn bonus points when complete and accurate scoresheets are submitted on time and teams are current with their match fees.

Anyone on the team can take responsibility for submitting scoresheets or payments. Weekly team fees must be submitted through the APA Pool League app no later than 10:00 AM the morning after the scheduled match to receive bonus points and avoid a late fee. Missed payments can be taken care of at https://jacksonville.apaleagues.com/latepayment%20.aspx

Beginning this session, our office is updating past-due procedures to ensure all teams stay competitive and maintain their eligibility for league benefits.

When a team misses a payment, our office will send a courtesy reminder text to the captain so the balance can be resolved quickly, minimizing the impact of lost bonus points on division standings. Captains may be suspended if a team falls multiple weeks past due.

Any past-due balances are visible to all team members in the Scorekeeper app, displayed in red between the team name and roster.

Rules & Bylaws

League play follows the APA Official Team Manual and Game Rules. Local-specific rules—roster changes, makeup/preplay policies, replay-rule usage, and scoresheet procedures—are defined by the Jacksonville APA Local Bylaws.

Bylaws highlights you should know before Week 1:

  • Weeks 1–4: Teams may make roster changes directly in the Scorekeeper app if the player is a current Jacksonville APA member. Contact the office ahead of the match if you need help dropping a player or getting someone added.
  • After Week 4: Roster changes must be processed by the League Office.
  • Rosters lock for Qualified Teams after week 4 so get those roster changes done early!
  • New APA members must register at join.poolplayers.com before being added. All new players start as a skill level three unless they are known to be better than that. If you think your new player is stronger than a skill level 3, call us before their match begins.
  • Weeks 1–4 are the only weeks teams can use the Replay Rule. The Replay Rule is available only during Weeks 1–4 and should be used by any team unable to field five matches under the 23-Rule to reduce forfeits.
  • Matches are expected to be played when and where they are scheduled. The League Office only approves makeup matches for emergencies. Prematches are always approved if the opponent is willing to accommodate the request.
  • Double jeopardy divisions should review the Skip Rule and the Final Match Rule to avoid forfeits and maximize strategy.
    • The Skip Rule is only to be used when a player is actively participating in the other format for their APA double jeopardy team and cannot be used for Match 5.
    • The Final Match Rule requires teams plan ahead so the same player is not needed for match 5 in both formats.
  • All teams are required to score all matches. Ensure that a dedicated scorekeeper—or the shooter themselves—is marking all innings, defensive shots, and timeouts accurately.
  • Teams should also verify that their final match score matches with their opponent before submitting scoresheets at the end of the night. Other statistics do not need to match exactly between teams, but since both teams are scoring the same match, we expect them to be reasonably similar.

What You Should Do Now

  • Ensure your 2026 APA membership is active before your first match.
  • Confirm your captain is submitting weekly fees on time.
  • Follow bylaws procedures for any roster changes.
  • Review the APA Official Team Manual and Jacksonville APA Bylaws with your team.
  • Check table assignments ahead of league so you’re ready to shoot when you arrive: https://jacksonville.apaleagues.com/tables.aspx

We look forward to a fair, organized, and fun Spring Session. For any questions regarding membership, payments, roster changes, or rules, contact the League Office or a Division Rep in the room (Spring DRs will be updated this week!).

Lastly, make sure the whole team joins us for the Jacksonville APA Player Appreciation Holiday Party on December 20th at Legends Billiards. We're excited for a red‑carpet night filled with great food, fun, pool, presents, photos, a DJ, and more. Dress in your favorite RED apparel and come ready for an unforgettable night together!
