We are a week away from the Jacksonville APA 9-Ball World Qualifier!
The 9-Ball World Qualifier bracket, eligible rosters, and other really good things to know are posted on our website: jacksonville.apaleagues.com/worldqualifier.
Everything posted to the website will also be included in your team envelope this week, but if you just can't wait, head to the website (or click these links) to view:
- Letter to Qualified Teams
- 2022 Tournament Bracket
- Team Rosters as of June 4, 2022: The 9-Ball rosters on this report show currently eligible players at the skill level they will start the tournament as of June 4, 2022. Remember, players play at the highest of their session-ending skill level since qualifying, or at their current skill level, whichever is higher, and must be listed on an active 9-ball roster in the Summer 2022 session. Skill levels and eligibility will be reviewed again prior to the start of the event. Please contact the League Office with any questions or concerns prior to the start of the event, 904-585-8180.
- Team Certification Statement (This needs to be printed on legal size paper. A copy will be in your Team Envelope. Please make sure it is completed and signed by all team members and bring it with you to the tournament - please don't return this in your team envelope).
- World Qualifier Tournament Rules
Info included in the Letter to Qualified teams (still read the letter at the link above - good stuff):
The 9-Ball World Qualifier will be hosted at 9 Ball Heaven. The first round is at 10am on Saturday, June 11, 2022. Please arrive by 9:30am to check in and turn in your Team Certification Statement (because you're not submitting it with your team envelope). The Player Meeting will start at 9:40am and matches will start at 10am.
At the link above, you will find the bracket showing your first-round opponent. There are 31 teams on the bracket and two will advance to Las Vegas. One team has a bye the first round, all other teams play at 10am. The bracket is a modified single elimination bracket, which means your team is guaranteed to play twice, but not to lose twice. The first two rounds of the tournament will be played on both 8-foot and 9-foot tables. All other rounds will be played on 8-foot tables only.
The tournament schedule is as follows:
- Round 1: Sat., 6/11 @ 10am
- Round 2: Sat., 6/11 @ 2pm
- Round 3: Sat., 6/11 @ 6pm
- Round 4: Sun., 6/12 @ 10am
- Round 5 (Semi-Finals): Sun., 6/12 @ 2pm
- All teams participating in the semi-finals earn a spot at the Jacksonville APA 9-Ball Elite Cup if they are not already qualified (July 31st, 9 Ball Heaven).
- Round 6 (Finals): Sun., 6/12 @ 6pm
- First place teams advance to the APA World Pool Championships in Las Vegas. The 9-Ball Championship is scheduled for August 9-13, 2022 at the Westgate Resort & Casino.
- Second place finishing teams will advance to the Southeast Challenge, which will be hosted here in Jacksonville, Sept. 9-11, 2022!
SEE YOU NEXT SATURDAY!!
