Dear Players,
We have some thrilling news to share! As the National Office continues to standardize league
policies across various areas, we will be aligning some of our local policies with those around us.
These exciting changes will take effect in the Spring Session of 2025, and we can't wait to share
them with you!
Key Policy Changes:
1. Aloha Divisions: Great news for our Aloha Divisions! Historically, their schedules did not
align with the rest of the league, preventing them from participating in the Tricups. But
starting Spring 2025, Aloha Divisions will be on schedule with the rest of the team divisions,
allowing them to compete in Tricups and play for Tricup payouts. Plus, they will now qualify
for the World Qualifier through Tricups!
2. Cost/Fees: Starting Spring 2025, there will be a small price adjustment—the cost per
match will increase from $8 to $10 for the 8-Ball, 9-Ball, and Ladies Teams. Doubles will
remain the same. This small increase will help us cover rising costs and, more importantly,
enhance your experience in key areas. We want to ensure that we can continue offering
high-quality tournaments, larger payouts, more travel assistance, and fantastic prizes for
our players.
3. Playoff Structure: The National Office has standardized our playoff structure with other
APA areas that run Tricups. Not all our divisions will see changes, but there will be a couple.
These will be outlined in the bylaws.
Here’s What’s New and Exciting:
• Increased Travel Assistance: Get ready for an upgrade! Travel assistance for our winners
going to the APA World Pool Championships in Las Vegas will be increased from $6,500 to
$8,000 per team! This will ensure we continue to reward our teams with enough travel
assistance to cover flights, rooms, and put a little extra in their pockets so they can focus
on just having a good time while competing in the World Pool Championships. We will now
be offering up to three rooms per team to stay at the Westgate, where the tournament is
held, at a large discount. Teams can still choose to stay elsewhere if they’d like, but this will
give them the option to stay at the event.
• More 9-Ball Teams Qualifying Through Tricups: Starting Spring 2025, we will qualify eight
teams each session from Tricups. This means more chances for teams and more prize
money!
• Improved Trophies, Plaques, and Patches: We’re committed to offering only the highest
quality awards for your hard-earned victories. The cost of high-quality awards has
increased, and this price increase will ensure that you continue to receive the most
prestigious recognition possible for your accomplishments and achievements.
• Top-Tier Cues and Cases: As the costs of premium cues and cases continue to rise, we
will continue to invest in only the best prizes for our players, ensuring you continue to
receive the finest pool equipment/prizes as part of your rewards.
• MVP Tournaments: MVP tournaments will now be held after every session. We’ve been
able to give out cash, free singles board entries, and custom cues. This will allow us to
award these prizes after each session. We will continue to have one big event after the
Spring session for the year’s MVP award winners as well.
• Captains Tournament: We will be adding money to the Captains tournament winners that
advance to Las Vegas, as well as adding a free entry Fun/Cash tournament for our
Captains. More details on this event will come in the Spring.
These changes are part of our ongoing efforts to improve our services and ensure the best possible
experience for our valued customers. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please
don't hesitate to reach out to your local league office.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
