Calling all higher Skill Level players! The Masters Team format is designed for you. And, the winning team will play in Las Vegas April 28th - May 1st! Register your team online before 5pm on February 13th. To register, go to the APA Heart of VA website. From the menu on the left hand side of the page, select Tournament Registration and Team.
Entry fee is $110/team, plus a $10 greens fee per team. Travel assistance for the winning team comes from the entry fees.
Roster
A Masters team will have a roster of 3-4 players, but only 3 play in the match. There is no limit on the combined team Skill Level.
Format
The Masters format consists of a set of five games of 8-Ball games and a set of eight games of 9-Ball games. The first player to win 7 games is the winner and earns 1 point for the team. The first team to win 2 points wins the match.
The winner of the lag may choose the break or which format (8-Ball or 9-Ball) to play first. For example, if the winner of the lag chooses the break, the opponent picks which format to play first. If the winner of the lag chooses which format to play first, then the opponent gets the break. Once the format has been chosen, the entire set of that format must be completed before you can play the other format.
APA game rules apply. However, a jump cue is allowed, and you can push out in 9-Ball. Also, time outs and coaching are not allowed. For the full game rules, see the link below.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this tournament, players must:
· have at least twenty (20) 8-Ball scores or twenty (20) 9-Ball scores within the last two (2) years by the entry deadline of June 30, 2023. You may combine the number of matches played between the two formats.
· be on an active Spring Session APA roster.
