Tri-Cup/WPQ Dress Code
APA of Delco PA and Southernmost NJ will be enforcing several of the same dress code requirements as National moving forward for both players and spectators attending Tri-Cups and World Qualifier (WQ).
Captains/Players, please read!
You are competing for the opportunity to head to one of the most prestigious amateur tournaments in the sport of pool - the APA World Pool Championships in Las Vegas! Tri-Cup is one stop on the road to this event. Please be aware that these events could attract local media attention.
Expect that you may be recorded for possible televised segments and social media videos, or you may be photographed at any time during the event. Players and spectators should dress appropriately.
APA of Delco PA and Southernmost NJ expects a participant’s appearance to be neat, clean, and of good taste so that each individual may share in promoting a positive, healthy, safe, and sportsmanlike atmosphere within every step of the road to the World Pool Championship. We also expect that spectators adhere to the dress code as well for the respect of the teams/players and host locations.
Participant and spectator dress, grooming, and good hygiene will be the responsibility of the individual, within the following guidelines:
- Dress and grooming will be clean and in keeping with health, sanitary, and safety requirements.
- Proper footwear must be worn.
- Items of clothing or jewelry associated with a controlled substance are not permitted.
- Dress and grooming will not disrupt the Tournament or cause undue attention to an individual participant or spectator.
- Participating teams with official team jerseys, within the guidelines are allowed and encouraged (World Pool Championships has a team shirt competition)!
The following items are not allowed:
a. house shoes or slippers
b. muscle/tank shirts, halter/strapless/spaghetti tops, midriffs, backless or racerback apparel, distractive, overly tight fitting, bare/openly exposed chests, short shorts above mid-thigh, torn or ripped shirts/pants/shorts, sagging pants (undergarments cannot be exposed including boxers and bra straps)
d. clothing with profanity, sexually-suggestive messages, messages that promote the occult, or messages of vulgar nature
The sole judgment of the Tournament Director(s) is the final decision, as to whether a participant's or spectators’ appearance, hygiene, or mode of dress disrupts play or does not comply with the above criteria. The participant may be required to make modifications and/or forfeit their match. No match will be delayed due to a dress code violation. A spectator may be required to make modifications and/or be asked to leave the premises. Do not take a chance at forfeiting a match due to a dress code violation.
