MVP Program

August 23, 2021 5:18 PM

by Central Ohio APA

The Central Ohio APA has not had a MVP program in place for approximately 5 years.  We wanted to bring it back in 2020 but Covid hit us and it got pushed back to 2021.  In 2020 we decided to slowly get back into a MVP Program so instead of their being a MVP tournament after each session it is one tournament at the end of the league year which will be around June/July 2022.

The excerpt posted below is straight from the Bylaws which can be found on the website:

MVP Program

The MVP Program will be based on a skill level tiered system. Division stats are available through your Member Services account. The breakdown of the tiers are as follows: 8-Ball 9-Ball Skill Levels 2 – 3 Skill Levels 1 - 3 Skill Levels 4 – 5 Skill Levels 4 – 5 Skill Levels 6 – 7 Skill Levels 6 – 9 Using regular session data (playoffs not included), MVP qualified players are ranked using their Points Available Percentage (PA). An example of how PA is calculated can be found on the website: centralohio.apaleagues.com In each division one player per session from each tier will be declared the division MVP and awarded an MVP patch.

At the end of each league year we will hold an MVP tournament. The top 5 players from each division and each tier will be invited to attend this tournament. You must be on an active Summer team to be eligible to play in the MVP Tournament. Cash prizes, plaques and Singles Regional entries will be part of the prize fund. Each player with 6 matches played per team in a session will be eligible to be an MVP during that session. Once you have made the MVP tournament list you must remain active and have 6 matches played in each session after to maintain your eligibility

Important Update for the 4th Week of Fall Session
8/31/25 - 2:24 pm
This marks the final week for making any changes to your team in the Scorekeeper app. If you are not playing tomorrow, please contact me or your Division Representative today (you can find their contact information in the Pool League app) to obtain your opponent's phone number. I will be unable to look up phone numbers tomorrow afternoon as I will be attending a Reds game with the family.
