23 Rule

The 23 Rule. This has been a topic of discussion with a few teams so I thought we should go over it. If your team goes over 23 skill level for the night your team will lose all of their points for the entire match. This rule has been in effect for... forever. It does not matter if it was an accident, honest mistake, you drank to much etc. The computer system automatically detects you went over 23 and takes all your points. It may even give your opponent 2 extra points as you can see below. 3.5 years ago we added the Replay rule, this helps teams in jeopardy over going over the 23 Rule. Or you can always forfeit the match and give up 2 points instead of all your points. Per page 33/34 in the Official Team Manual
25. TEAM SKILL LEVEL LIMIT
All formats, with the exception of Masters, have a Team Skill Level Limit. Each format's Team Skill Level Limit is indicated in the bullet points below. A team playing less than a full match must show that
it would not have exceeded the Team Skill Level Limit, if all the matches had been played. If the Team Skill Level Limit is broken, the offending team receives zero points for the entire team match. The nonoffending team would receive:
• 8-Ball Open (23-Rule) - All points they won plus two points for
the match in which the 23-Rule was broken and any subsequent
individual matches.
• 9-Ball Open (23-Rule) - All points they won plus 15 points for
the match in which the 23-Rule was broken and any subsequent
individual matches.

Important Update for the 4th Week of Fall Session
8/31/25 - 2:24 pm
This marks the final week for making any changes to your team in the Scorekeeper app. If you are not playing tomorrow, please contact me or your Division Representative today (you can find their contact information in the Pool League app) to obtain your opponent's phone number. I will be unable to look up phone numbers tomorrow afternoon as I will be attending a Reds game with the family.
