The new session of Baton Rouge APA Ladies-only 8 ball league and Master's league will start it's spring session the week of Feb. 17th.
The APA Masters division is a no-handicap format which follows the US Amateur format. This division participates on Tuesday nights. Teams are comprised of a max of four players, three players play per night. Each match is a race to seven with five games of 8-ball and 8-games of 9-ball. Winner of the opening lag chooses the break or the opening format (8-ball or 9-ball). Starting format must be competed prior to moving to the next format. Teams earn points in the regular session; one point per game won. There are no timeouts in this format and jump cues are allowed (house rules apply).
In Ladies only 8-ball, teams are comprised of a max of five ladies with three participating per night. This division participates on Thursday nights. The skill level max for this format is three players to a combined skill level of 13. All APA rules apply.
Both formats are qualifying divisions for the national tournament in Las Vegas. This year, one ladies team and two master's teams will represent our area in Vegas at the end of April.
