Masters League details:
The APA Masters Division is a non-handicapped league within the American Poolplayers Association (APA) that is designed for the higher-skilled players. It follows the U.S. Amateur Championship rules and format, with each match a race to 7, including 8 games of 9-ball and 5 games of 8-ball. Teams consist of 3-4 players, with 3 participating in each match.
Key Features and Rules:
No Handicaps:
Unlike other APA formats, the Masters Division does not use handicaps to level the playing field.
Team Format:
Teams consist of 3-4 players, with only 3 participating in each match.
U.S. Amateur Championship Format:
Follows the same rules and format as the U.S. Amateur Championship, including a race to 7.
Push Outs and Jump Cues:
Push outs are allowed after the break during games of 9-ball, and the use of jump cues is permitted.
Scoring:
Each game won is worth one point, and the first player to 7 wins the match.
