Participating team information for:
Spring Tri-Annual Tournament
April 12-13, 2025 – Trickshots Sports Bar
Brackets and Rosters available online at batonrouge.apaleagues.com under the Spring Tri-Annual link.
Reminders:
The APA Scorekeeper app is not yet available for tournament play. Please be prepared to take manual score on the provided hard copy scoresheets.
Check your rosters carefully to ensure all players who should be listed are accounted for. On the online rosters, players with an “I” next to their name are ineligible for this event. (if you have questions reach out to the league office). The skill level used in this event is either the skill level at the time of qualification or current session skill level; whichever is higher. Again, please check your roster carefully to avoid any surprises.
There are quite a few teams participating and seating will be limited. Please make sure that both teams have room for players to keep score and ensure that any player with special needs receives priority seating. When moving around the facility, please be conscientious and considerate to players/teams currently in matches.
In order to keep tournaments running smoothly and on-time, this event will be under the sudden-death guidelines. In 8-ball sudden -death is called at the 3 hour and 45 minute mark. Your team match must be in the fifth individual match (with balls broken) or any matches not yet begun fall under the sudden death guidelines. In 8-ball, a sudden death match consists of at most two racks. The first rack is worth two points to the overall team match, the second rack, if needed is worth one point.
In 9-ball, sudden death is called at the 3 hour mark. Your match must be in the fifth individual match (with balls broken) or any matches not yet begun fall under the sudden death guidelines which in 9-ball calls for ball counts to be doubled. The 1-8 ball count for two points, the 9 ball counts for four. We will be happy to answer any questions related to the sudden death guidelines at that time.
If you/your team are participating in two matches at the same time, we will do our best to assign those matches in close proximity – but this is not guaranteed. Under no circumstances will matches be held for a player playing a match on another table. Players are not allowed to play on multiple tables at one time or coach another table during their match. Make sure you set your lineup accordingly if a player is on multiple teams.
Headphones, ear buds, etc. are not allowed at this event.
This is a single elimination event. Qualifying teams from this event will earn qualification to the 2025 Baton Rouge APA World Qualifiers, May 23-26 at L’Auberge Hotel and Casino.
All players receive only one timeout per rack, regardless of skill level. We have professionally calibrated one-minute sand timers for your use during the event. Please return them when you turn in your scoresheet following the round.
Lag for the opening breaks.
We will have Spring 2025 session High Point Winner plaques at the control desk. Please pick these up prior to leaving the event facility.
Patches are available for 8-break, 8-break & run, rackless match in 8-ball and 9-snap, 9-break & run in 9-ball upon request.
Good sportsmanship is a rule… not a suggestion. Please make sure that you maintain proper decorum during this event.
