Baton Rouge APA World Qualifiers --- are quickly approaching!

Some reminders as we close in on our premier event!

Dates

The dates for the 2024 Baton Rouge APA World Qualifier are May 23-27, 2024. The event will once again be held at L’Auberge Hotel and Casino in the Grand Ballroom.

.

Eligibility information

Players participating in this event must have been on the qualified team roster during the Spring 2024 session and played a minimum of four matches with that team during the regular session (not including any playoff or tri cup matches). All players must be considered established; having played a minimum of 10 lifetime matches in the specific format (8 or 9 ball) by the end of the Spring session which includes both playoff and tri cup matches. Qualified teams must also remain active during the summer session and retain a minimum of four original members to participate.

Team Certification form

Every team participating in the World Qualifier must fill out and return via email to dvolz@apaleagues.com, a team certification form. This form can be downloaded at batonrouge.apaleagues.com under the World Qualifier link on the left hand navigation bar. This must be received in the office by May 14th.

Greens Fee

There is a $100 greens fee PER TEAM for this event. (if both your 8-ball and 9-ball teams qualify from double jeopardy that is two teams). For our Master’s and Ladies teams the greens fee is reduced to $50 per team. All teams must have this fee paid to the league office by May 7th. The greens fee covers all practice and match-play for the entirety of the event.

Skill levels

Skill levels will be reviewed prior to the start of the event for any changes. Players are to participate at either the highest session ending handicap from the point at which the team became qualified or current skill level – whichever is higher.

Event Facility

We are happy to once again partner with L’Auberge Hotel and Casino for our premier event. We have secured a small block of rooms for our members at a slightly discounted rate. Individual reservations must be made by 05/07/24 by calling 1-866-261-7777 and using the code APA24 to receive the group rate. Rates for two queen rooms are $249.00 per night Fri. and Sat. and 109.00 per night Sunday and Mon. Once again, we only have a very few rooms available in our block so reserve early.

Vegas, baby

Winners will earn travel assistance and a slot in the 2024 APA World Pool Championships to be held in Las Vegas at the Westgate Resort and Casino. Dates for the event are Aug. 8-17, 2024. Specific event dates within the Championships window can be found at poolplayers.com, under tournaments.

We expect to award four 8-ball and four 9-ball team trips to Vegas as well as two Master’s trips and one for our Ladies only 8-ball division (exact numbers will be released once finalized by the national office). Runners-up will receive entry into our regional event, the Big Easy Challenge held in October/November each year at the World-Famous Buffalo’s Billiards in New Orleans.

More detailed information will be distributed as we get closer to the event. Good luck to all our teams during the remainder of the Spring session.
