Vegas 2023 is a wrap! As far as I'm aware everyone made it back to the Red Stick in one piece and no one was incarcerated in Vegas - at least no one called me for bail money...
In all it seems everyone had an enjoyable, memory-making experience at the largest pool tournament in the world! This event featured 15,287 participants, 2,592 teams, 297 pool tables, 801 mini events, with teams from 49 states and four countries!
Several of our teams finished in the money while a number of players also did well in the mini tournaments (see Luke Sanders' post ;) )
Leading the way in the team events was our master's team - Welcome to Pilsbury - that finished in a tie for 17th in a very difficult field.
Our team captain's team - Gettin' Tricky With it - finished in a solid T33rd. While our other master's team Abra Kadabra and 8-ball team Fortune Cookies each tied at 65.
In the mini events we recorded five firsts and five seconds for a solid showing and in the Mega 8-Ball Doubles (mini event) Greg Little and Scott Booty paired up to finish in the tie for 5th. Our highest showing in that relatively new event.
It was a fine effort by all our teams.
Up next on the Road to Vegas will be our Summer session Tri Cups on Sept. 9-10 and then the October singles regionals in New Iberia where roughly 100 of our Baton Rouge APA members will be shooting for a trip to Vegas in 2024!
Good luck everyone!
