NOTES FOR THE UPCOMING WORLD QUALIFIERS AT L’AUBERGE….

Dates for the event are July 9-12 at L’Auberge Hotel and Casino. We will hold one round on Friday at 7 pm. Three rounds Saturday and Sunday (9/2/7) and the 10 finals matches on Monday at 7 pm.

Exact times on facility opening for practice will be determined once our set up schedule is finalized.

Approximately 122 teams will be competing in these events among 10 separate brackets. Seven teams (4 in 8-ball, 3 in 9-ball) will qualify from the 2019-2020 league year while three teams (2 8-ball and 1 9-ball) will qualify from the 2020-2021 year for a memory making trip to Vegas to play in the Worlds Largest pool tournament, the Apa World Pool Championships taking place October 21-30.

Team certification forms will start going out with team packets with the start of the summer session (week of June 14) along with participation rosters for those teams already qualified. These must be filled out, signed and returned prior to June 28.

Greens fees for the event are $70 per team. Normally our greens fee is $100 per team but has been reduced accordingly due to the number of teams participating. For teams already qualified these need to be received by the June 28 deadline.

Once we complete roster eligibility review for the 2019-2020 event including common player determination, we will do an online draw and set and post those seven brackets. The 2020-2021 brackets will be drawn after the final tri cup event is completed and those rosters are reviewed.

If anyone - mainly our high handicap players — is interested and comfortable in volunteering as a referee (mainly watching and calling close hits) we will need assistance for this event to run smoothly. It will be the largest pool tournament —maybe ever - in Baton Rouge so we will need to count on help from our membership(even if your team is playing to assist with any nearby matches). Tomorrow is the due date for both the World Qualifier certification forms as well as the greens fees for those teams qualified.We are still missing items from several teams....On Monday we will post the "tardy list" and publicly shame all those who are unable to get this simple task complete. Then I will start the process of having to track you down and look at you disapprovingly.But seriously, pl
