While we, at least for a moment, were jubilant with the news that bars would be able to open statewide at a minimum 25 percent capacity, it seems it was a case of premature elation (it happens to guys sometimes).
The governor slipped us another one, opening bars statewide but keeping the restrictions on bar games requiring that parishes be at or under 5 percent positivity for two consecutive weeks and then opting in to allow bar games, before being an allowed activity.
So for many of our bars, they will continue to be hamstrung with regards to revenue streams even as Covid case numbers continue to plummet and vaccines become more widespread.
Now, you CAN play pool at a restaurant or a bar with a conditional restaurant license at 75 percent capacity but unless you have that license you are unfortunately out of luck. As are we for the majority of our league returning to play, at least for the time being.
We will anxiously await the next two Wednesday's as the positivity numbers for each parish are updated to see if we will be allowed to resume league play fully.
I apologize for the confusion and will update with any other information as it becomes available.
