I wanted to reach out to you all and make you aware that Covid-19 has finally touched our Baton Rouge Apa family. Upon learning of the positive diagnosis, I immediately reached out to the Louisiana Department of Health as well as the Apa National office to put together a plan on how to proceed. We alerted the host location in which the team plays as well as the opposing teams’ players who may have come in contact so they would be aware and could get tested if they felt it was appropriate. We also asked those teams who may have been in close contact to refrain from playing over the next week and matches will be rescheduled at a later point during the session to further protect our other members. We are strongly encouraging our players to stringently follow the CDC and state guidelines and to seriously consider wearing a mask to protect yourself and those around you. As always if you feel unsafe or have underlying conditions, feel free to reschedule your match. We have kept the replay rule in place for this session as well both to assist teams that are short players and to assist with social distancing. Ultimately, we want our members to be safe while the state and world works through these trying times. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and will make further announcements should the need arise. we appreciate you all being a part of our Apa family!
