by South Bay APA

Mili and Robert will be running singles qualifiers at Jimmy's Billiards for the spring singles regional to be held March 1-2, 2024.

This is the first step in qualifying for the 2025 Poolplayer Championships (Singles Championships).

These are the only two chances to qualify for the fall regional!

Saturday,11/23/2024 from 11 AM to 6 PM. Last Board start is 5 PM
$5 green fee
All play on 7' Diamond tables - The same that will be used for the championships in Las Vegas

Who can participate?

You must be active on 8 Ball or 9 Ball team, have at least 10 matches in the last two years in the format of the qualifier, and you can only participate in a format that you are currently playing and have the required number of matches.

How does it work?

Play until you win!  The singles qualifiers are single elimination with only 4 people on a board.  The winner of the board pays the fee so if you lose it costs you nothing, just sign up for the next board and try again.  Play as many times as you need to qualify.  The winner of each board is the one that pays for the entry to the Singles Regional ($128).  MVP winners you don't have to pay for the board so go out and qualify!

Am I good enough?

While the qualifier boards will be mixed skill levels the Regional and National tournaments are grouped by skill level tiers, so that once you advance you only play people in your skill level tier.

Where is the Regional and when is the regional?

The more people that qualify the likelier we are able to host the regional locally.

What if I don't want to participate in the singles program can I still come and play?

NO!  If you are playing on a singles board and walk out before it is complete you will not be able to participate on any future singles boards or MVP tournaments for the next year.  You will also be suspended from the league for a minimum of 2 months.  If you walk out on the board it becomes invalid and is thrown out so you just wasted 3 other peoples time.

Thank you to Mili and Robert for volunteering their time to give all of you the opportunity to qualify for the APA Poolplayer Championships!  Please treat her well and make sure she stays well hydrated while running the qualifiers.
