OK, we're at the "poop or get off the pot" stage with this possible new Thursday night division at Corner Pocket Sports Bar looks like we have two, maybe three teams who are definitely interested but everyone is looking at everyone else. We're honestly still getting things sorted out, info is still coming in, people are still trying to make up their minds... but this is the big picture:

Hard Times Thursday is full.

Hard Times Wednesday is full or nearly full.

Corner Pocket Wednesday is full or nearly full.

Diamond Thursday is full or nearly full.

Diamond Wednesday is full.

The above is EXACTLY why we're trying to expand to Corner Pocket Thursday. I know Corner Pocket isn't for everyone (table snobs, talking to you) but it's a fun place with a chill vibe and full bar. Enough said on that - and they also don't charge greens fees.

I know there are teams in the above list of "fulls or nearly fulls" that have grown skill level-wise and need to reorg a bit. I know there are teams or potential teams playing the "wait and see" game to see if the Thursday CP division happens. I also know there are at least a couple of teams who have already expressed interest but are now nervous about what they're going to do if the division doesn't get rolling... particularly because most of the other options are full.

Classic stalemate.

So.... to help break the stalemate and get things rolling, I'll kick in some incentives - and these will apply to all teams added to the Thursday CP division whether they're brand new teams or whether they're the result of splitting off from another team that has skill level issues... or an existing team that just flat wants to move from another location to CP.

I'll kick in $100 to each team... essentially two and a half weeks of free play. It's not my first rodeo, so there are conditions! The $100 will kick in as a team rebate after week five of the summer session is complete. Team must be "in good standing" and of course is expected to complete the session as always, etc.

I'll also get everyone (who wants one) an APA t-shirt mid-session as well. The exact t-shirt will depend on what's available from the National Office at the time and it's not going to be customized or anything, but... it's a free t-shirt!

And... go! Contact me if you're interested. If you've already contacted me about Thursday / Corner Pocket, I'm not going to be mad if you contact me again just to make sure I got you... as long as you're nice about it 🤣🤣🤣

This is single format 8-Ball.

New Division Possibility - Thursdays
4/20/26 - 10:35 PM
The owner of Corner Pocket recently gave us the "go ahead" to see if we can get a division started on Thursday nights at Corner Pocket. This is good news! Because we've been a little cramped on Thursday nights and even Wednesday nights at a few locations. As of the Spring Session, anyway, Tuesday and Wednesday nights at Corner Pocket were at capacity; Wednesday and Thursday at Hard Times is at capa
Respect the tables
2/23/26 - 10:44 PM
All: most if not all of our larger locations have rules concerning chalk. Please be aware of and respect these rules! If in doubt, use chalk supplied by the location. Usually, using chalk that matches the color of the cloth on that location's tables is acceptable. Often, a high quality caulk like Taom that does not transfer color to the cue and the cloth is OK - if in doubt, check with the house.

Good morning! This is going to be a long read, but please take the time to read it if you have any interest in what the APA calls the “Showdown Series” – 8-Ball Doubles, 9-Ball Doubles, Jack & Jill Doubles, Ladies Team, Masters and Team Captains Team. I’ve been hearing some comments from time to time that make me realize there are some misconceptions floating around, so hopefully I can address
