by Sacramento APA

Details for this upcoming Saturday's 9-Ball Straight to Vegas tournament.

Location: Jointed Cue

Time: Signups start at 10AM, CLOSE at 10:30AM.

- JC doors open at 9AM, so you can come in early and eat breakfast / get some practice in if you wish.

- as usual, we'll be set up for signups by the side door (back of the main room by the door to the tournament room).

- bracket will be a modified single elimination bracket.

- There are NATIONAL eligibility requirements that you and your team MUST meet in order to participate. These requirements will be enforced, and YOU are ultimately responsible for meeting them. If a "deeper dive" uncovers someone who is ineligible after the tournament starts, you will be disqualified.

- The full requirements as well as the dates for the Vegas event can be found on the APA's poolplayers dot com website:

https://poolplayers.com/showdown-series/9-ball-doubles/

In a nutshell:

- total SL of team must be 10 or less

- each player must be an active member of Sacramento APA

- each player must have played at least 20 9-Ball matches in the last two years.

- each player must be active on a 9-Ball team in the current (Spring) session

- if you are playing in Vegas in 8-BALL SINGLES... you cannot play in 9-Ball Doubles due to schedule overlap.

Tournament buy-in: $50 per team - 100% of which will go towards team travel to Vegas. Separately, Sacramento APA will pay for tournament entry in Vegas as well as tournament greens fees in Vegas.

We do NOT anticipate this tournament lasting beyond Saturday, but it likely will be a full day / evening.

Good luck everyone!

Good morning! This is going to be a long read, but please take the time to read it if you have any interest in what the APA calls the “Showdown Series” – 8-Ball Doubles, 9-Ball Doubles, Jack & Jill Doubles, Ladies Team, Masters and Team Captains Team. I’ve been hearing some comments from time to time that make me realize there are some misconceptions floating around, so hopefully I can address

Something disappointing happened at the Singles Qualifier yesterday that I thought I'd mention here to turn it into a learning lesson for whomever needs to hear it.I left a couple pieces of Taom chalk on a table next to my cues near Table #1. This chalk is distinctively labeled and shaped - it's cylinder shaped instead of the normal cube shaped chalk (typically Master) that is supplied at pool hal
