ALL 1st Place teams will now enter playoffs. The winner of each division’s playoffs will now be titled the Division Champions and earn the Vegas Cup bid of the session. Playoff matches will be 1st vs WC and 2nd vs 3rd. This is a change coming from APA National as they standardize playoffs across the entire league. More info at the * below.

𝘼 𝙁𝙚𝙬 𝙇𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙨:

𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩, 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙤𝙛𝙛 𝙗𝙞𝙙𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣. Once you earn a bid, you are good for the year. We will not be awarding double, or triple bids. Instead, any already qualified teams can take future playoffs weeks to enjoy a 2 weeks break in-between sessions. You will no longer need to pay for or extra matches to earn the 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 of a Vegas Cup bye with extra bids. Playoff spots will be passed to the next unqualified team in the standings. This will ensure a new team in the division earns a bid every session.

𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗯𝘆𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝘂𝗽𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗿, 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲. We are working on a third regional qualifier for Spring session TBA. Teams placing 2-4 will guarantee themselves entry as these tournaments will always be capped.

𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 “𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘄𝗴” 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱. Every session one 8-ball & one 9-ball team across all divisions that has the highest points per match in regular session play will receive $500 for 8-Ball and $300 for 9-Ball and the session Big Dawg award. This can be awarded in cash or be used as a credit for future weekly dues. We hope this encourages interdivision competition and promotes community as teams will now be competing against ALL teams in their format, not just within their division every session. 𝘞𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 all the 𝘥𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘉𝘐𝘎 𝘋𝘈𝘞𝘎 early 𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘵 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬. 𝘗𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯!

𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗻𝗼 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗩𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘀 𝗖𝘂𝗽, 𝗩𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝘂𝗽 𝗯𝘆𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲. Vegas Cup WQ Byes will be awarded in order of highest to lowest yearly PPM. So it is still important even with early qualification to play your best every session. Also keep in mind you MUST stay in the top 50% of your division or risk losing your qualification if the drop in standings cannot be explained.

*𝑴𝑶𝑹𝑬 𝑰𝑵𝑭𝑶 𝑶𝑵 𝑵𝑨𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵𝑨𝑳 𝑪𝑯𝑨𝑵𝑮𝑬: The APA has been working towards standardizing playoffs across the league for the last few years. There have been disparities in how difficult it is to earn a bid for the local World Qualifier, with some areas being overly challenging and others too easy, leading to potential exploitation and unfairness in League Areas and at the World Pool Championships. This is the structure they chose moving forward. Now every league area everywhere has the same qualification structure for their size.

Why this is better in our opinion as League Operators: As we grow as a league and introduce new teams, many composed of almost entirely new APA players, this will prevent teams from quickly amassing points early in the session while still establishing their skill levels. This can and has created leads that were difficult for established teams to overcome, resulting in automatic Vegas Cup bids to these new teams. All teams will now enter playoffs and must win two matches at their more established session ending SLs to earn that same bid.
